Schedule of Events for August 26, 2011

• The Division of Student Affairs at Virginia Tech is once again hosting Gobblerfest, a welcome festival for students, staff, faculty, and community members. Gobblerfest 2011 will be held outside of Squires Student Center from the Library Plaza down College Avenue into downtown Blacksburg on Friday, August 26. Gobblerfest is a fun and festive way to learn what local businesses have to offer and how you can get involved in the community. Last year's event drew more than 19,000 attendees throughout the day. Gobblerfest begins at 4 p.m. with the street festival and runs through 1:30 a.m. in Squires Student Center, with a concert, comedian, dance party, movie, and attractions like make your own license plates and airbrush t-shirts.
• Check-in for booths on campus property will begin at 1:30 p.m.
• Check-in for booths on town property will begin at 2:30 p.m.
• 4 p.m. the street festival starts
• Official Welcome to Gobblerfest and Wing Eating Contest 4:45 on Henderson Lawn Various Music Performances – Lolopolis, Faraday, Badunkafunk, Levi's Gene Pool, Joshua Sizemore, Ross Flora, Pan Yammers Business, student organization, non-profit, and VT department booths Rides and Games sponsored by VT Student Centers and Activities and the Student Budget Board
