Weather Notice

Update 8/26/11, 9:30 a.m.

Gobblerfest is still a go, despite predicted rain showers mid-day. If weather threatens to be severe, we will make a weather related cancellation of Gobblerfest OUTDOOR activities ONLY. All INDOOR activities in Squires Student Center, scheduled 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., will go on as planned. Weather related information will be posted HERE, so please check back.

Want to Volunteer to help with Gobblerfest?

You are invited to take part in this exciting event by volunteering for the many support roles an event of this size requires. Volunteer duties include everything from setting up tables and production equipment to providing information to participants, directing traffic, helping with load-in, staffing the Gobblerfest headquarters tent, driving shuttle vans, serving as clean-up crew, and breaking down the tables and packing away the memories when the fun is over.

As part of Gobblerfest on Friday, August 26, the Virginia Tech Union proudly presents comedian Moshe Kasher. He will be performing at 10:15 p.m. in Colonial Hall, Squires Student Center.  Moshe is an award winning stand-up comic writer and actor from Oakland, California. Currently he lives and works in Los Angeles. He has been featured on popular shows such as NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” E!s “Chelsea Lately,” VH1, The Independent Film Channel, The Montreal “Just For Laughs” festival (Best of Fest), and Jamie Foxx’s Laffapalooza (Best of Fest).  He has been described by Itunes as “the best comedian of 2009,” and by Punchline Magazine as “one of the most important comics to watch out for.”

Moshe Kasher will perform at 10:15 p.m. in Colonial Hall, Squires Student Center.
